I realised that there is a serious lack of psychobilly on this blog and what better way to correct the problem than with an Australian band.
For those of you who are unfamiliar to the genre of pyschobilly, it is a mixture of rockabilly, punk and B-movie influences. As strange as this combination may sound on paper, in practice it works incredibly well.
Hoodoo Voodoo Dolls hail from Adelaide and have all the elements of a great pyschobilly band: greart guitar riffs, a standing drummer, lyrics that come straight from a horror movie and the all important upright bass.
The closest band I could compare these guys to is Zombie Ghost Train, although I supposse you could say these guys are like The Living End on speed.
Believe it or not, all of the members are under 21, however it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take them seriously. Except when they’re singing about necrophelia…
