Who needs a time machine when bands are making music like this?
Young bands playing 60’s inspired music seems to be a bit of a trend at the moment and The Frowning Clouds are probably one of the best examples of this.
Hailing from Geelong, The Frowning Clouds are another young Australian band playing 60’s inspired music like they were there when it happend. Their sound is a mix of original r&b, garage rock and a touch of pyschadellica. While they might not be doing anything new, they do it so well that it doesn’t really matter. Thier frontman Zak has great snarly vocals, the guitars are jangly and the rythm section chuggs along in a way that makes you want to dance your arse off. In other words, they have everything you could possibly want from a retro band.
